WHY DANCERS JOIN THE COMPANY AT ACADEMY OF DANCE
Company dancers receive focused training in technique, musicality, and performance from experienced instructors who take each student seriously. AOD is a structured environment that challenges dancers to grow stronger, refine their artistry, and adapt across ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and musical theater styles—all while building confidence and presence on stage.
Company members take part in high-profile events throughout Warner Robins and beyond. From local holiday parades and Dancers for Hope to international stages and televised showcases, these experiences allow dancers to develop stage maturity, represent their community, and build memories they’ll carry for years.
Joining the Company means more than taking class—it means committing to a team and building lifelong habits. Dancers grow in reliability, time management, and accountability while forming strong bonds with their peers. The result is a more confident, connected, and capable individual on and off the stage.
BRING YOUR TRAINING TO
THE NEXT LEVEL
Dancers interested in joining the Academy of Dance Company—through either AOD’s Performance Team or Competition Team—must meet specific criteria to support the focus and discipline required for the program. Participants must be at least 7 years old and have a minimum of two years of previous dance experience in any style. This helps ensure a solid foundation for the demands of group rehearsals, choreography, and stage work.
Selection is based on an annual audition held each May, where dancers are assessed on their technique, performance readiness, and growth potential. Once accepted, Company members commit to consistent rehearsals beginning in July, with ongoing performances and events throughout the year.
Dancers are expected to attend practices regularly, contribute positively to the group, and remain focused on both personal and team development. We look for individuals who are motivated, coachable, and supportive of their peers. These standards help maintain the quality and unity that define AOD’s studio, whether performing for the community or representing Warner Robins at regional and international stages.
The Performance Team offers dancers the chance to shine at parades, community events, and studio showcases throughout the year. Designed for dancers who love the stage, this team builds confidence, presence, and group connection through consistent rehearsal and diverse performance opportunities.
The Competition Team is for dancers ready to train at a focused level and represent the studio on the competitive stage. Members attend three regional competitions each season and refine their technique, musicality, and adaptability while building strong teamwork and resilience.

Dancers are supported by a team that sees their potential and helps them build discipline, confidence, and resilience. AOD’s instructors provide clear expectations in an environment that values progress, safety, and personal responsibility.

Families often tell us they’ve found more than just a class—they’ve found connection. Academy of Dance is known for its warmth, diversity, and genuine support among dancers, staff, and parents. Here, every student is known by name and encouraged to grow with pride.
SKILL BUILDING AND STAGE READINESS
Dancers who join the Company at Academy of Dance quickly begin to see results that go beyond the basics. With focused instruction and consistent rehearsal, dancers improve not only their technique but also their endurance, musicality, and clarity of movement. The training is purposeful and structured to help each student develop precision, expressiveness, and leadership in every step they take.
Live performances at community events across Warner Robins bring a rewarding sense of accomplishment that reinforces growth in a way classroom practice alone cannot. These opportunities give dancers real-time experience and boost self-assurance every time they step on stage. At the same time, they become part of a supportive group where friendships form naturally, motivation stays high, and every dancer is encouraged to aim higher—together.
MEANINGFUL OUTCOMES THROUGH COMMITMENT
Being part of the Performance Team or Competition Team at Company shapes more than strong dancers—it shapes strong individuals. For many students in Warner Robins, this experience becomes a foundation for future opportunities in higher education, professional dance, and the performing arts. The structure and discipline developed through consistent training and team involvement also support academic success and personal growth.
Weekly rehearsals, focused instruction, and real-world stage experience foster habits that last beyond the studio. Dancers learn to manage their time effectively, lead with respect, and work as part of a group with shared goals. These qualities stay with them—benefiting their schoolwork, future careers, and everyday interactions.
Just as meaningful are the friendships built through this experience. The teamwork, celebrations, and shared challenges create bonds that last for years. The Company experience is about more than performance—it’s about building confidence, leadership, and a lasting sense of pride in who you are and what you can achieve.
